Privacy policy
Last updated 20 October 2026. This is a starting template: have it reviewed by a lawyer before launch.
What we collect
- Your profile: the nickname, optional gender, country and interests you choose. No email or phone number.
- A hashed network address: we store a one-way hash of your IP address, never the address itself, to enforce bans and rate limits.
- A device identifier: a random ID stored in your browser, used only to enforce bans.
- Room messages: messages in public rooms are kept for 7 days, then deleted.
- Reports: when you report someone, the last 20 messages of that chat are attached and kept for up to 90 days after the report is resolved.
- Voice messages: stored for 24 hours, then deleted.
What we don't collect
- One-to-one text chats are relayed in real time and never stored on our servers, unless included in a report.
- Voice and video calls connect directly between you and the other person, or through a relay that can't see the content. We never record calls.
Advertising and cookies
We show ads from Google AdSense on some pages. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent first, and you can change your choice at any time. You can opt out of personalised ads at Google's Ads Settings.
Your rights
You can change your profile at any time, or clear your browser storage to end your session. Sessions unused for 30 days are deleted automatically. To ask about your data, contact us using the details on the contact page.
