Is Hiya free?
Yes. Text, voice, video and rooms are free. We keep the lights on with a few clearly labelled ads on pages like this one, never inside your chats.
Do I need an account?
No. Pick a nickname and start. Your nickname and interests are stored with an anonymous session on your device, and you can change them anytime.
Are my chats saved?
One-to-one chats are never stored on our servers. Public room messages are kept for 7 days so moderators can act on reports, and voice messages disappear after 24 hours.
Who can use Hiya?
People aged 18 and over. Video chat is always 18+, and anyone reported as underage is removed from video straight away.
What happens when I report someone?
The chat ends immediately, you're never matched with them again, and a moderator reviews your report with the last few messages attached. People reported by several users are banned automatically.
